Ohio Gun Self-Defense Law Basics
You are permitted to use a gun in self-defense when all of the following things are true:
(1) You are not at fault in starting the fight;
(2) You honestly believe that the only way to stop the attacker from killing you or seriously hurting you is to use your gun; and
(3) You are not able to get away from the attacker without putting yourself in danger. (Thanks to the Castle Doctrine, there is no need to follow this one if you are inside of your house when you use the gun.)
